In the late 1980s he became a community worker before entering Harvard.
Between 1996 and 2004 he was a Lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School.
In 2005 Time magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people.
In 2008 he won the Deomocrat presidential nomination.
